Manufacturing Training Coordinator (2nd Shift)

    What you will do: 

    You will support operations, safety, quality, and other departments in conducting and developing training programs, on-the-job training criteria, and certification programs to increase the skill level of plant employees. You will also be responsible for collaborating and developing processes and tools to maintain current employee training records, skills matrices, and training plans, with a focus on electronic/digital (Alchemy software) management and aligning the program with safety and quality compliance guidelines, as well as JCMS requirements.

    2nd Shift: Mon-Thu 3:00p – 1:00a

    • Need to be flexible work OT on Fridays when needed.

    • Need to be flexible to work 3x12 (Fri – Sun) when needed.

    How you will do it:

    • Conduct and/or coordinate training and certification programs that include “classroom” and on-the-job training for all production employees.

    • Maintain training systems documentation and processes.

    • Work with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and organize training materials, such as Alchemy Playbook, Operator Description Sheets (ODS), Work Instructions, training videos, etc.

    • Conduct and support new hire orientation training to include safety, quality, and a general understanding of production processes.

    • Assist in maintaining job description criteria for interviewing employees from training perspective, as well as developing training plans with operations management.

    • Create and maintain processes for managing employee transfers between jobs/departments/shifts.

    • Coordinate process audits as a means to measure the effectiveness of the Training Program.

    • Develop and create training, systems, and processes for ease of management and sustainability, often requiring collaboration with other departments, support groups, and plants.

    • Apply Problem Solving Tools to support training needs and systems in the plant.

    • Participate in process improvement teams and projects that impact training.

    • Support quality department initiatives and process improvements as it relates to training, process changes, and process controls.

    • Perform special assignments and other duties as needed as assigned by manager.

    • Responsible for reporting work related injuries and near misses to supervision.

    • Responsible for wearing all required PPE and following applicable safety/environmental rules.

    • Responsible for correcting or reporting unsafe conditions observed within the plant.

    • Perform other duties as required.

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Ability to comfortably navigate in digital/computer systems and troubleshoot basic IT issues

    • Skills in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), and email, with basic familiarity with other programs, such as MOM and Alchemy

    • Organizational skills and attention to details

    • Professional, friendly and positive attitude

    • Knowledge of tools and equipment necessary for training

    • Ability to learn and understand ISO quality processes and JCMS principles and methods

    • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports as required

    • Ability to work a flexible work schedule to conduct training, collaborate with various departments, and provide quality/safety/manufacturing support

    • Must be dependable and have a good attendance record

    • Must treat all personnel matters as confidential

    Preferred:

    • Exposure to quality, environmental, and safety disciplines

    Physical Requirements:

    • Repetitive walking throughout facility (at least 80 percent of shift), deskwork using computers, and associated office equipment.

    • Lifting from 5lbs. to 50lbs, this would be limited to the department currently working within. Any amount more than 50 pounds requires physical or mechanical help. 

    • Highest frequency would be walking and/or standing.

    • Continuous visual and frequent close mental attention to details involved in determining requirements and prioritizing work. 

    • High stress levels are experienced periodically.
