We are looking for a new team member at our Espoo location to join our talented and highly motivated Manufacturing Transfer team. This is a great opportunity to broaden your knowledge and skills in X-ray detectors. As a Manufacturing Technician, your main responsibilities will include prototype manufacturing, assembly and testing. You will be an integral part of our team, taking on challenging and varied tasks. Furthermore, you will be involved in the initial phases of prototype manufacturing and will have the opportunity to develop and optimise manufacturing processes to meet production requirements.
To succeed in this role, you should have a good understanding of micro-mechanics and electronics, as well as the capability to perform precise assembly of complex detectors with extremely challenging mechanical tolerance requirements. Basic soldering skills are also essential. We offer opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills through both internal and external training. We operate both Finnish and English, so it is essential to be able to work in both languages.

Job Description

What we're looking for: 

  • Basic knowledge of mechanics and electronics
  • Hands-on experience with precise assembly work in electronics or a comparable industry (e.g., watch or jewelry making)
  • Basic soldering skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team (don’t be afraid to ask questions!)
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills
  • An agile approach – the team is part of our R&D department
  • Good basic computer usage skills (MS Office).
  • Proficiency in both Finnish and English

    What you'll be doing: 

    • Processing product, parts and assemblies using hand tools, customized tooling, and/or semi-automated equipment.
    • Manufacturing and assembly of prototype detectors
    • Testing and repair of field-returned detectors
    • Problem-solving, testing, and hardware repair
    • role requires on-site working
