Position Location: UK - Loughborough – Bishop Meadow Road / Bakewell Road

Role overview

Packing of all types of chemicals into multiple styles of containers and outer packaging, following procedures and understanding safety instructions.

You will be expected to complete all the relevant training to the required standard within 12 months, to effectively move to the Manufacturing Technician II role.

Role and work-time flexibility are important factors. Time is of the essence.

Crucial Duties & Responsibilities (not necessarily in order of importance):

  • Follow the details given in schedules (works orders) and understand the packaging requirements.
  • Operate processing and packaging equipment. Equipment includes filling machines, labelers, and packing equipment. Both Manual and Automatic
  • Fill all packaging Materials and styles and sizes of container, on different Equipment
  • Use a wide range of measuring and weighing equipment.
  • Weigh, measure and check raw materials to assure batches packed contain accurate materials and quantities.
  • Responsible for checking that batch numbers and chemical code numbers given on the schedule matches that on the labels and the product container
  • Palletise completed packs and where appropriate strapping or stretch wrapping to allow safe transfer to the warehouse.
  • Follow all safe practices and Standard works and carryout daily safety checks
  • Be aware of your own and others responsibilities for Health and Safety and the Environment. Following the appropriate procedures, ensure compliance with manual handling, COSHH & waste handling as required; follow safe and environmentally sound working practices
  • Ensure all unsafe incidents and accidents are reported in a timely manner, reports are written and returned to the EHS department according to procedure.
  • Work with due care and attention and in accordance with prescribed safety guidelines. Adhering to the company policy, including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Complete and maintain Quality Records in compliance with regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures.
  • Carry out routine inspection and quality checks.
  • Carry out regular maintenance on equipment as critical to Safety and efficiency.
  • Be prepared to move between Departments within the Company.
  • Housekeeping duties are to be carried out on each shift, maintaining 5’s Standards
  • Take active part in improvement initiatives within the Department.

Hours of Work:

  • 38 hours per week. (30 minutes unpaid break)
  • Shifts could be days, mornings, afternoons or nights

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

To demonstrate the following:

Minimum GCSE, A-level or Diploma

Awareness of environmental, health and safety issues. Ability to follow procedures/work instructions etc. Ability to meet strict quality requirements. Learn new processes to provide support for other team members. Interested in improving work methods and conditions. Ability to carry out computer transactions. Focus on meeting customer delivery requirements
