The Role

Our Port Melbourne site is not only the home of Vegemite it is also the home of other Australian iconic products, such as Bega Peanut Butter, Bega Simply Nuts, Zoosh and VEGEMITE has been proudly made in Port Melbourne, Australia since 1923.

We’re looking for a motivated and experienced Team Manager – Manufacturing to join our dynamic team and play a key role in delivering high-quality products while fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

The incumbent's standard working hours will be from Monday to Friday 8AM to 4PM – negotiable, no weekend.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team to deliver strong operational performance and achieve key KPIs

  • Monitor and analyse performance indicators, including quality, safety and variance reporting to drive continuous improvement.

  • Plan and manage short- to medium-term production schedules, ensuring commitments are met through effective resource allocation and overtime management where required.

  • Drive ME & OEE performance, including leading or resourcing problem-solving activities and identifying maintenance and continuous improvement (CI) opportunities

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, proactively identifying issues and escalating where necessary

About you

  • Proven experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Degree qualification in related discipline (e.g: food science, chemical engineering, and related fields)

  • Problem solving skills – data-based decision making and conflict solution

  • Strong leadership skill – ability to coach and influence team members

  • Basic computer literacy – experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and other similar systems and software
