Holman is seeking a 1st Shift Fabrication Supervisor to lead Fabrication department operations in Bartlett, IL.
  • Shift: Monday - Friday   6:30 AM- 2:30 PM

Principal Purpose of Position

The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily fabrication operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements are consistently met. This role coordinates materials, manpower, and production capacity while maintaining efficient workflow and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure required materials and update production schedules (Gantt charts) to support on-time completion.
  • Partner with management and product specialists to establish and maintain appropriate inventory min/max levels.
  • Release materials to fabrication jobs based on availability and shop capacity.
  • Monitor production schedules and ship dates to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Adjust staffing levels in coordination with department leads to meet production demands.
  • Support shop floor workflow and assist with fabrication activities as needed to maintain throughput.
  • Provide clear daily direction to team members and mentor employees in skill development and performance improvement.
  • Review purchase order pricing for accuracy and report discrepancies to management.
  • Track material shortages or delays and communicate impacts to work-in-process and production schedules.
  • Provide management with updates regarding production efficiency and forecasted workload.
  • Generate reports identifying production data entry errors and attendance versus labor hour discrepancies.
  • Review completed jobs prior to moving to the next operation to ensure compliance with print specifications and company quality standards.
  • Communicate directly with downstream customers and management regarding shortages and coordinate purchase order updates when necessary.
  • Establish Setups for fixture tables and create SOP’s
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Must successfully pass a physical examination, drug screening, and criminal background check prior to employment

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Engineering background preferred (Weld Engineering highly desirable).
  • Previous experience as a Lead or Supervisor in a fabrication or manufacturing environment is required.
  • AWS Certification or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.
  • Experience with ECM1 or comparable ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience scheduling shop floor resources and managing production capacity.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Job shop experience preferred (custom fabrication or repair environment versus high-volume production).

Regular Full-Time

Temporary or Part-Time

Pay:

We offer competitive wages that are commensurate with job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and geographic location, starting in the range of $72,950.00 - $103,955.00 USD annually for full time employees. The annual compensation range is comprised of base pay earnings.
