Manufacturing Solutions Sales Manager (m/f/d) – Location flexible DACH region

Germany, Tübingen Full time

Walter is recruiting for a

Manufacturing Solutions Sales Manager (m/f/d) – location flexible within the DACH region

The primary objective of this role is to guide and support the Walter Sales Company (WSC) and the respective region in acquiring “Beyond Tools” projects, with a strong focus on outcome‑driven solutions for entire machining lines at a customer. Instead of selling individual tools, this approach combines tools, services, engineering expertise, digital solutions and operational responsibility into one end‑to‑end customer value proposition. The objective is clear: reduce customer complexity, improve performance, and create long‑term partnerships. In close collaboration with the Walter Sales Companies and their regional sales team, you will actively develop customer leads, identify and shape opportunities, and translate them into concrete, value-adding concepts. Your responsibility is to drive these initiatives through to closure, ultimately signing new “Beyond Tools” projects that align with Walter’s strategic and financial targets guidelines.

We are looking for a proactive pioneer who takes ownership, drives opportunities forward, and turns ideas into results. If you are motivated to actively shape the future of our Walter Manufacturing Solutions business and deliver measurable customer value, we encourage you to apply and take the next step with us. It will be a truly pioneering experience.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You identify and develop opportunities for Walter Manufacturing Solutions projects by working closely with the WSC and responding effectively to customer inquiries

  • You evaluate the potential of proposed projects in close cooperation with WSC, ensuring that each opportunity aligns with overall business objectives

  • You design comprehensive “Beyond Tools” projects based on detailed analyses of customer tool flows, machining processes, and relevant data insights. The solution is built as a package of internal and external products and services

  • You prepare robust business cases, including risk and profitability assessments, and clearly communicate the value and benefits to the customer

  • You take the lead in guiding project teams throughout the concept development and ramp-up phases, ensuring smooth execution and high customer satisfaction

  • You handle customer requests related to projects promptly and professionally, consistently maintaining a high standard of service

  • You collaborate closely with WSC/Region, Offering, and Sales Management HQ to continuously enhance Walter’s solution offerings

Your Profile:

  • You have a master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field

  • You have proven experience in delivering complex projects within the machining industry, with a strong focus on initiatives that drive total cost reduction and productivity optimization

  • You have a solid understanding of total machining processes

  • You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, applying a structured and methodical approach

  • You have a demonstrated track record of success in customer acquisition and development, including experience managing long sales cycles

  • You demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships

  • You feel comfortable working in project-based environments and think creatively to develop innovative solutions

  • You have experience working in international business environments and are fluent in both spoken and written English and German

  • You are willing to travel as required to meet the demands of the position

Our benefits:

Walter offers you a modern working environment with flexible working hours, mobile working, a wide range of health measures and company pension schemes. We place great importance on enabling our employees to develop professionally and personally. Safety in the workplace is very important to us and we actively support diversity and inclusion measures.
