Job Description
As a Manufacturing Software Engineer, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing requirements, developing, testing, maintaining and debugging digital solutions. Your role will involve the digitalization of manufacturing operations, developing and supporting shopfloor applications, automating data collection and retrieval workflows, creating and implementing complex data transformation, analytics and machine learning algorithms in value chain processes
Responsibilities
- Partner with management, operation teams, IT and global solution teams to design and deliver digital solutions that enhance productivity, optimize operations and enable data-driven decisions.
- Understand manufacturing and supply chain operational needs, gather and analyze requirements, and translate them into technical requirements
- Develop and implement full-stack software solutions, databases and analytics applications, ensuring seamless integration of data, systems and workflows.
- Create, execute and document test plans to ensure developed solutions meet functional, performance and reliability requirements
- Integrate, consolidate, cleanse and transform complex datasets into actionable information analytical, operational and workflow applications.
- Design, develop and deploy machine learning models and advanced algorithms to support predictive analytics, process optimization, anomaly detection and other value adding manufacturing use cases.
- Provide ongoing operational support to existing applications, ensuring reliability, minimal downtime and prompt issue resolution.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to established data governance, cybersecurity standards and regulatory policies.
- Review system architectures and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for performance optimization, enhanced data architecture and improved solution scalability.
- Stay current with industry trends, tools and best practices in manufacturing digitalization, applying relevant advancements to improve solution delivery and operational outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent, with at least 5 years of relevant industrial working experience.
- Experience in full stack software development, software development lifecycle processes, modern data stacks and data integration workflows.
- Proven track records in developing and deploying data pipeline and business intelligence solutions for manufacturing and supply chain applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as SQL, Python, Java, C#, VB, ASP.NET, MVC, PHP or equivalent
- Practical experience in ETL tools, data integration frameworks such as Microsoft Fabric and REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with relational and non-relational databases such as MSSQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL etc.
- Working knowledge in BI platforms (e.g.: Qliksense, Power BI, Grafana etc.), manufacturing software applications and preferably AI/ML implementations.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, leadership abilities and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-driven, innovative and results oriented, with a proven track record of delivery complex projects.
- Ability to quickly learn new skills and technologies, stay informed about industry developments and comfortably switch between diverse tech stacks
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
