Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a First Line Manufacturing Manager to support the KC-46 Everett Modification Center (EMC) in Everett, WA!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with all KC-46 EMC operations teams, functional support organizations, multiple management levels including executive to help team:

    • Implement, teach, coach and model Boeing Production System (BPS) and Incident and Injury Free (IIF) standards for the KC-46 EMC team

    • Develop lead and execute project and process improvement plans, implement policies and procedures and set operational goals

    • Oversee staffing acquisition process for the EMC

    • Oversee resource acquisition process for EMC improvement projects

    • Meet product requirements and ensure customer acceptance by overseeing final component installation, systems operation functional testing, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair

  • Collaborates, develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, functional support core teams, peers, partners, and direct reports.

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

  • Note: This position will likely often work a split first/second shift schedule

  • Promote employee engagement and build an organizational culture that fosters safety and quality performance, improves employee satisfaction and retains a skilled and motivated workforce

  • Forecasts resource needs, obtains and manages personnel, facilities, equipment and tools to meet operating requirements

  • Works daily with BCA counterparts to integrate build plans for manufacturing

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing

  • 3+ years of experience in lean processes and initiatives

  • 3+ years of experience in working to lead and develop teams to execute to safety, compliance, quality and cost

  • 3+ years of experience working within a cross-functional organizational environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in coaching, guiding and mentoring teams

  • 3+ years of experience in a formal or informal leadership role

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • Experience in leading large scale / organizational change

  • Boeing Problem Solving Model Experience
