Summary:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Manufacturing Manager is accountable for leading and coordinating all production activities across multiple manufacturing lines. This role ensures that safety, quality, and regulatory compliance standards are met, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives The Manufacturing Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize production, implement new technologies, and support organizational growth in a regulated medical device environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize manufacturing processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Create and lead a culture of continuous improvement “on the manufacturing floor” using our EBS (Envista Business System) principles and tools such as: Standard Work 5S, Daily Management, Gemba Walk, PSP, SMED, VRK and other.
- Manage action plans (daily, weekly, monthly) for implementation, sustainment, and counter measures of operations KPIs and metrics.
- Work closely with support departments to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-paced, high-stakes environment.
- Oversee the safe integration and operation of automated equipment, robotics, and advanced manufacturing technologies, ensuring compliance with safety standards (OSHA, ISO, FDA).
- Manage budgets, resources, and staffing to support production goals and cost efficiency.
- Provide training and development opportunities for staff, fostering a high-performance team environment.
- Support and sutaint the implementation and validation of new manufacturing technologies, equipment, and automation solutions to enhance productivity and product quality.
- Actively promote a “safety first” culture at all levels of the organization, integrating safety into every process and operational decision.
- Mentor and coach team members to build technical expertise and promote professional growth. promote a high-performance culture.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes consistently comply with quality management systems and applicable medical device regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA)
- In the event of minor and/or major non-conformities in internal and external audits, follows up on preventive/corrective actions to address the non-conformities.
- Attends various reports at management review and CAPA meetings when scheduled by Quality management.
- Annually prepares the budget, which is usually done between May and June. Periodically compares expenses against the budget to operate within the budget.
- Present monthly manufacturing KPI (+QDIP) reports to the Plant Manager, including corrective action plans (PSP) to close gaps versus goals.
Job Requirements:
Education/Experience/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronic Engineering, Mechatronic or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of proven experience as a manufacturing leader
- 3+ years of business analytics experience required
- Proven experience leading continuous improvement projects (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Knowledge and experience of Quality Management Systems, ISO 13485 Medical Devices.
- English.
Preferred Requirements:
- A master's degree in Industrial Administration.
- Knowledge of at least Green Belt (SIX SIGMA).
