Manufacturing Industrialization Engineer

As a Manufacturing Industrialization Engineer you will be responsible for;

  • Manufacturing Line & Facility Industrialization: Support the industrialization and startup of facility and Center of Excellence, executing hands-on manufacturing engineering activities to enable a stable ramp to LRIP and full-rate production.
  • Layout, Flow & Line Design: Develop overall and station-level manufacturing layouts (2D/3D as applicable). Design and validate production flows supporting mixed-model builds, modular and parallel processing, and process branching/merging to ensure efficient throughput and scalability.
  • Capacity Modeling & Line Balancing: Build and validate line balance models, TAKT alignment, station loading, and WIP levels. Physically test and verify cycle times, identify bottlenecks, and support equipment sizing and resource planning.
  • Tooling, Fixtures & Automation: Coordinate with tooling and automation teams regarding facilities requirements, installation logistics, and factory verification. Identify opportunities for automation and advanced manufacturing technologies to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Quality & Yield Improvement: Support definition and integration of quality checkpoints, inspection methods, and test equipment. Perform FPY analysis, support pilot runs, and drive corrective actions to achieve ≥95% yield through ATP during validation builds.
  • Material Flow & Handling: Design and improve material handling processes to minimize touchpoints and prevent damage. Define standard WIP, kanban loops, material presentation methods, and internal inventory buffers to support uninterrupted production.
  • Process Documentation & MES Support: Oversee creation of work instruction documentation, standard work, and routing implementation. Support routing updates and integration of work instructions into MES and related digital manufacturing systems.
  • Pilot Runs, Validation & Training Support: Support physical line installation, pilot builds, and final validations. Assist with operator training, LRIP readiness, and initial go-live activities to stabilize production.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve production issues, support supplier quality containment, and continuously improve manufacturing processes.

Qualifications;

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, or production line support, preferably in aerospace, defense, or complex electromechanical manufacturing.
  • Skills: Hands-on experience with line balancing, cycle time analysis, tooling and fixture design, lean manufacturing principles, MES environments, and basic automation or Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Travel is a requirement for this position

 

 

Salary Range: $70,000 - $120,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
