Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our Lifecycle Sustainment Operations (LCSO) Team as a Manufacturing Engineer based out of Elkridge, Maryland.
The LCSO team supports electronic testing and repair operations for multiple programs for both DoD and foreign military customers. The LCSO executes low volume production; typically, production of spare LRUs, prototype manufacturing; developing one-off components, systems or test sets to support engineering development, and full systems integration for products.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling
Develop process documentation for new and existing systems’ Bonding, Mechanical Fabrication, Coating, and Additive Manufacturing
Work with the chief engineer to develop repair procedures
Evaluate incoming production for feasibility and process definition
Define fabrication process based on component features, materials and dimensions
Create and maintain work instructions
Designs sequence of operations and specified procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance
Develop equipment maintenance and provide an interface to BWI for equipment maintenance
Assist with the maintenance of the environmental test equipment
Work with the Industrial Engineering group to support routing development and other IE activities
Support ongoing expansion of LCSO; multiple moves and build outs, provide an interface to facilities
Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout
Providing supplier support, as needed, to resolve issues within supply base
Providing Request for Proposal (RFP) input specifically as it relates to Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) requirement such as tooling, capital equipment and/or new process development
You must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-visibility environment; work well in a team environment; and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM area with 2 years of relevant experience
Experience working with MS Office software applications
Experience using drafting/modeling software
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance is required
U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with J-STD and MIL-STD requirements
3D modeling experience in Unigraphics/NX
Machining
Experience with the Teamcenter Manufacturing tool suite and Manufacturing Process Planning
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC), and 6 sigma concepts for process development and control
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Working in a Manufacturing environment
Active U.S. Government Secret Clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,600.00 - $119,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
