Provides technical and sustaining engineering support of equipment and processes in manufacturing.  Recommends and implements equipment and process modifications to improve production efficiencies, manufacturing techniques and yield for existing products.  Develops and maintains equipment specifications.  Coordinates with Equipment Operations to develop, plan and execute equipment maintenance and calibration intervals.  Mentors and guides technicians in support of the essential job functions described herein.  Supports achieving operations objectives as defined by the SD Matrix and the Strategic Triangle (Growth, Pipeline, OPEX, and Quality).  Develops and executes process validations.

Major Accountabilities

  • Daily production support

  • Defect dispositions and non-conformance management and reporting

  • Manufacturing engineering representation at daily gemba boards

  • Supports achieving SPQDIP targets

  • Ensures equipment readiness and coordinates maintenance, calibration and repair

  • Continuous improvement identification and implementation to reduce waste

  • Process development and validation

  • Supports a safe work environment in production

         

Key performance indicators/ Measures of success

  • First pass yield, on-time delivery, scrap budget per annual Operations budget

  • No FDA or DEKRA audit findings or recalls due to Operations

  • Zero accidents in areas of responsibility

  • Supports successful design transfer of new products to manufacturing

         

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

  • Solid modeling experience

  • Lean certifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience

  • Previous medical device experience

Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the annual base salary for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 plus discretionary annual bonus. Pay ranges may vary by location.
