Job Description Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing processes with a strong emphasis on process data, manufacturing documentation, and shop‑floor execution. This role ensures production readiness, product quality, and compliance by owning manufacturing data, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting design transfer and continuous improvement activities.

The Manufacturing Engineer works closely with Operations, Quality, and Design Engineering to ensure manufacturing processes are defined, validated, documented, and consistently executed. This role operates with some autonomy within established procedures and adapts priorities to meet changing production needs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers.

  • Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy. May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.

  • Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

  • A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Explains technical information to others.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field from an accredited university or college.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and explain technical information.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage manufacturing data and documentation in a regulated or production environment.

  • Solid problem‑solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize work effectively in a dynamic manufacturing setting.

  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working on the shop floor in partnership with operations teams.
