Intec Automation Inc. is an established (25+ years of business), small automation company based in Rochester, NH that specializes in the design and build of custom automation equipment. To support our continued growth, we are looking for an energetic individual to serve as a Manufacturing Engineer. The individual we are seeking must enjoy problem solving, and rarely building the same machine twice. The company needs a hands-on, assertive individual that is self-motivated, pursuant of personnel development and growth, who is willing to share knowledge and enhance the capabilities of co-workers and the company alike.
Overview:
Entry-level position focused on learning manufacturing engineering fundamentals and supporting senior engineers in the design, documentation, and deployment of custom automation equipment. This role provides exposure to various industries while developing core manufacturing engineering skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in basic design tasks using SolidWorks under supervision
- Support creation and maintenance of bills of materials
- Help create basic fabrication drawings and documentation
- Participate in design reviews and team meetings
- Support machine build and testing processes
- Learn company procedures and standards
- Assist with basic process improvement projects
- Support documentation of manufacturing processes
- Help maintain engineering documentation and records
Must-Have Skills:
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and principles
- Fundamental knowledge of materials and common manufacturing methods
- Basic proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Ability to assist in creating and maintaining bills of materials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite for documentation and reporting
- Ability to support machine build and testing processes under supervision
- Strong attention to detail in design and documentation tasks
- Eagerness to learn and develop manufacturing engineering skills
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members, especially as a liaison between design and manufacturing teams
- Familiarity with maintaining engineering documentation and records
- Willingness to follow company procedures and standards
Additional Skills:
- Ability to participate in design reviews and contribute to discussions
- Capability to assist with basic process improvement projects
- Ability to participate in root-cause analysis and issues resolution during machine build/test phases, using structured problem-solving methods (with supervision)
- Basic understanding of GD&T for interpreting and creating drawings
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and principles
- Basic proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Fundamental knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Education:
- B.S. Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related technical discipline
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Physical Demands (All Levels):

- May occasionally need to lift up to 50lbs
- Normal visual requirements for reading written instructions and computer screens
