As part of BMO’s North American Retail & Small Business Payments team, the Partnerships, Pricing and Benefits team develops and manages key partnerships and benefits, with a mandate to develop and grow new partnerships that are aligns our strategic vision and add value to the BMO cardholder experience.
The Managing Director is accountable for holistic team leadership, strategic oversight, planning and coordination of the BMO Co-Brand credit card portfolio, Credit Card Pricing and Embedded Benefits (including Insurance and Value-Added Services). This leader sets the vision for partnerships in the credit cards business and leads co-ordination with broader banking teams around further integration of BMO credit cards in customer loyalty strategies.
Key Accountabilities
Air Miles Co-Brand Credit Cards:
Full P&L ownership including value proposition development, financial management, liaising with internal and external partners to maximize the growth and client experience.
BMO VIPorter Mastercard Partnership
Leadership of the BMO/Porter partnership, including the growth and continued technological development of the co-brand card suite
New Partnership Development and Management
Identifying, building and launching innovative partnerships designed to promote growth, engagement and retention across the BMO cards portfolio. Management of existing partnerships (ie Instacart) to optimize growth and success of the partnership
Cardholder Benefits (Insurance and Value-Added Services)
Management, development and optimization of embedded benefits for credit card customers including insurance, airport lounges, roadside assistance, and others. Strategic oversight of benefits portfolio to identify and launch new benefits as needed
Revenue Optimization (Pricing and Profitability)
Leadership of all aspects of credit card pricing including automated risk-based pricing, annual pricing changes and adoption of regulatory changes
Ownership of Mastercard contract and partnership on behalf of several other areas of the bank

Qualifications:
University degree - Master of Business Administration is an asset
7+ years of Product Leadership experience in credit cards with progressive growth, and comprehensive knowledge of payments, pricing, loyalty, partnerships, and customer experience
Experience in delivery of highly complex strategic initiatives or projects impacting large groups of people, processes, and technology
Strategy and roadmap planning, combined with equally strong execution focus
Strong people leadership, interpersonal, communications and influencing skills with all levels of stakeholders, incl. executives at all levels of the organization
Highly developed relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships across multiple levels of the organization, across lines of business, across various BMO groups
Strong consulting and changing management skills, able to think strategically and implement strategic vision
Deep understanding of Retail Payments and underlying technology systems that support the payment ecosystem
Please note the target base salary range for this position is a range from $185,000 CDN to $195,000 CDN

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
