Newlab

Managing Director-Brooklyn

Brooklyn Navy Yard Full Time

Newlab is recruiting a Managing Director (MD) to lead Newlab Brooklyn. This senior business leader will be responsible for driving sustained revenue growth through industry partnerships, stewarding Newlab Brooklyn’s public-private relationships as a strategic advantage for critical technology commercialization and startup-led economic development in New York.

The Managing Director will be ultimately responsible for growing Newlab Brooklyn’s business by building and managing a portfolio of industry partnerships, including the development of a small number of anchor corporate relationships that generate durable, repeatable revenue and commercialization pathways for startups. These partnerships will uniquely benefit from Newlab’s ties to government, policy, and public assets in New York, enabling real-world testing, validation, and deployment of critical technologies.

The Managing Director will own Newlab Brooklyn’s P&L and will work closely with Newlab’s global teams to ensure that industry engagements sourced in New York are delivered with high quality, whether executed locally or in coordination with other parts of the Newlab platform.

  • This role is ideal for a leader with deep experience operating within or alongside large, complex organizations and a strong understanding of how corporate decision-making, risk, and technology integration work in practice. Success in this role requires balancing commercial outcomes, institutional trust, and delivery excellence, while positioning Newlab as a long-term strategic partner to industry and public-sector stakeholders.
