If you're looking for the stability of a profitable, growing company with the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup, we’re hiring. SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Manager Underwriting Support.  SageSure Insurance is seeking an experienced leader for its underwriting support operation. This important position leads the Underwriting Support team to ensure that policies remain active, and any necessary documents and actions required to retain policies are communicated to customers. The manager will be responsible for ensuring response times objectives, processing quality, and regulatory compliance specific to the team’s responsibilities. The ideal candidate shall be responsible for developing and implementing effective work processes that allow the organization to scale efficiently. The candidate must be a highly-motivated, self-driven, and results-oriented leader with a proven record of insurance and leadership experience. 

What you’d be doing: 

  • Manage and own the timely completion of the underwriting support functions for our insurance program business. 
  • Coach and mentor direct reports and encourage open communications with all staff members. 
  • Administer internal controls and audits to ensure staff completes assigned tasks in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures. 
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for process improvements and effectively propose and implement approved solutions.  
  • Encourage and reinforce a culture rich in SageSure’s purpose and values.  
  • Create and communicate monthly activity dashboards for management to share the team’s performance. 
  • Collaborate with other business unit leaders to improve SageSure’s customer experience delivery. 
  • Handle escalated customer needs and resolve issues that require attention. 
  • Act as a liaison for off-shore processing resources supporting Policy Services. 
  • Ensure that non-admitted insurance policies meet state requirements for placement and tax reporting. 
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

We’re looking for someone who has: 

  • 5+ years of leadership experience. 
  • Resident P&C and Surplus Lines licenses 
  • 3+ years’ relevant work experience in insurance operations. 
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and process guides.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other leaders, business partners, or clients.  
  • Ability to define problems, analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Solid planning, leadership, and administration skills. 
  • High energy with a sense of urgency and the ability to multitask. 
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of technology to improve processes. 

Highly preferred candidates also have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
