PURPOSEKEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES
Lead the CTC underwriting team in handling underwriting assessment and service support activities.
Ensure underwriting cases are processed within agreed SLA and quality standards.
Perform underwriting assessment and approval within delegated authority and review cases escalated by team members.
Ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines, AML/CTF requirements and governance standards.
Lead, coach and develop underwriters to enhance technical competence and authority levels.
Identify workflow, productivity and quality improvement opportunities and support underwriting-related projects and system enhancements.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
University graduate with professional insurance or underwriting qualifications preferred (e.g. FLMI or equivalent).
Solid experience in life and medical underwriting, including exposure to underwriting assessment and decision-making.
Previous people management or team leadership experience in underwriting operations is required.
KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS
In-depth knowledge of life and medical underwriting principles, guidelines and delegated authority frameworks.
Strong understanding of underwriting risk assessment, including medical and non-medical cases.
Working knowledge of AML, CTF and regulatory requirements relevant to underwriting activities.
Ability to balance technical underwriting judgment with operational efficiency and quality control.
