Job Summary: The Transport Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of employee and goods transportation across the site or organization. The role ensures smooth operations, vehicle availability, safety compliance, cost monitoring, and vendor coordination while delivering efficient transport services to support business operations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Transport Operations: • Plan and schedule day-to-day transport requirements for employees, material movement, and special events. • Ensure timely deployment of vehicles based on shift timings and business needs. • Monitor and manage fleet movement using necessary transport tracking tools. • Liaise with transport vendors and service providers for vehicle availability and service quality. • Implement and monitor GPS tracking and emergency protocols. • Maintain accurate employee transport schedules, including night shift arrangements. • Address employee concerns, delays, or incidents promptly. • Maintain a feedback system to improve transport quality. • Supervise transport coordinators and on-ground staff. • Ensure appropriate vehicle allocation based on employee strength and shift timings. • Maintain trip logs, fuel usage, and cost records. • Submit regular reports on fleet performance, issues, and improvements. • Avoid unnecessary overtime, detours, or idle vehicle charges. • Handle breakdowns, route changes, and alternate arrangements during disruptions. • Coordinate with security for employee safety during late-night transport. • Oversee transport-related software/tools for tracking, booking, and reporting. • Ensure accurate data updates for employee transport preferences and shift changes 2. Vendor & Fleet Management: • Coordinate with third-party transport service providers. • Ensure all vendor vehicles meet necessary compliance standards. • Review vendor performance, SLAs, and monthly billing. 3. Safety & Compliance: • Ensure strict adherence to transport safety protocols, including seatbelt usage, speed limits, and route safety. • Manage emergency response procedures and driver training. • Conduct regular audits of vehicles and transport records. 4. Staff & Driver Management: • Oversee and supervise drivers’ schedules, attendance, and performance. • Conduct regular training on safety, behavior, and soft skills. • Manage grievance redressal related to drivers or transport services. 5. Cost & Efficiency Control: • Vehicle maintenance, and cost optimization. • Maintain records of expenditures and submit reports to management. • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives. 6. Communication & Support: • Maintain a transport helpdesk for real-time support and issue resolution. • Communicate clearly with employees on routes, timing, and policies. • Coordinate with security and admin teams for smooth transport execution.
