How you will make an impact

The Manager, Supply Planning, under the guidance of the Sr Manager, Manufacturing Planning is responsible for the tactical planning of Manufacturing Production and maintaining a valid master schedule at the Site. Owns inventory ramp-up plans for new products and promotions. Acting as an owner of finished goods inventories, the Manager, Supply Planning works to meet Line Item Fill Rate and / or Same Day Ship metrics for both direct sale and OEM products. Interacting with Demand Planning, Product Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and QC, the Manager, Supply Planning anticipates/identifies/resolves potential supply issues to ensure that company objectives are met for business revenues and customer satisfaction.

What you will do

  • Loads and runs item-level and the aggregate forecast for the relevant product groups.

  • Apply statistical methods in calculating Re-Order Points and Finished Good (FG) inventory planning.

  • Develop and regularly update FG stock keeping unit (SKU) inventory Re-Order Points (ROPs) to maintain agreed standard lead-times and service objectives while minimizing the use air freight and other expedite costs.

  • Develop, maintain and continually improve inventory and service parameters and relevant supply chain master data settings in appropriate ERP systems for all SKUs and product groups.

  • In response to agreed upon forecast and demand plan, create a supply plan that will result in achieving required service and inventory targets.

  • Provide input and recommendations in improving supply chain strategies, policies and practices to achieve Best-in-Class Supply Chain Management.

  • Lead problem resolution activities, when required, to insure timely deliveries to / from global locations to customers. Lead back-order reduction efforts.

  • Provide vital input, improvement suggestions, and participate in the monthly MFG SIOP process. Own actions items relative to inventory changes.

  • Work with Site Operations contacts to identify constraints from an unconstrained Demand plan and develop options to address these limitations.

  • Under the leadership of the site Sr. Manager, MFG planning and in collaboration with BU SIOP Demand planner, develop and implement inventory management strategies that support revenue growth, minimize risk of E&O for both finished goods and raw materials, while balancing inventory turns and availability goals.

  • Ensure raw material and OEM purchases are made timely in support of the production schedule and that all materials maintain appropriate safety stock levels.

  • Track performance of suppliers and share areas that need improvement with the Procurement team.

  • Own and maintain appropriate site Metrics relative to Finished Goods, such as on-hand inventory value, past due value and past due days of sales, Line Item Fill Rate (LIFR), Finished Goods (FG) DSI, and Slow Moving & Obsolete value.

  • Support development and implementation of the Lean Supply Chain.

  • Provide direct leadership to Production Schedulers and Material Management colleagues.

  • Represent Supply Chain on the Site Operations Leadership Team.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • 5-7 years of relevant purchasing or planning experience.

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or other business management subject area or related field is preferred.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to translate complex supply chain situations into terms clearly understood by various client groups including senior management.

  • Strong analytical skills, combined with practical business sense.

  • Demonstrated ability in establishing relationships across various functional teams.

  • Sound knowledge of forecasting, inventory management, and production planning is preferred.

  • Proven ability in managing multiple tasks.

  • Proven ability in working well in a global organization within Operations and with external clients.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools. Ability to work independently, typically initiating own tasks with input/guidance from manager and/or director.

  • Ability to thrive in a matrix and cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements

  • APICS certification is strongly preferred.

  • Meaningful experience in the Life Science or Medical Device industry.

  • Six Sigma Green / Black Belt Certification.

  • Experience in SAP-APO, Demantra, or Oracle ASCP.
