Manager, Supply Chain Planning

Role Summary:

The Manager, Supply Chain Planning is responsible for end-to-end inventory and production planning across Dyne’s external supply network. This includes long-range planning (LRP), ensuring uninterrupted clinical supply, and supporting commercial launch readiness through scenario-based planning and risk assessments. This tactical role is critical in executing current planning activities and shaping future supply chain capabilities. The Manager collaborates cross-functionally with internal stakeholders (e.g. the wider CMC team, Regulatory, Quality, Clinical Operations, and Commercial teams) as well as external partners and service providers.  

This is a full-time position based in Waltham, MA 

Primary Responsibilities Include: 

Production Planning 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Technical Operations, Logistics, Quality, Clinical Operations, and Commercial to develop and maintain a reliable demand and supply plan, ensure supply continuity, uninterrupted clinical supply for patients, support commercial readiness, and align with the company’s business objectives 
  • Maintain an understanding of external manufacturing site capacities, capabilities, and supply risks. 
  • Perform scenario planning to evaluate alternative demand and supply assumptions and inform risk mitigation strategies. 
  • Maintain vendor forecasts in alignment with clinical and commercial demand forecasts as well as contracted minimum production requirements.  
  • Balance production across supply network to maintain set inventory targets 
  • Manage master data, demand forecasts, and accurate stock levels in SCmple Supply Chain Planning tool. 
  • Manage purchase orders and invoice reconciliation from external vendor network. 
  • Support the Implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. 

Logistics Operations Support 

  • Coordinate and oversee shipments of materials between CMOs, warehouses, 3PLs, Test Labs and other supply chain nodes. 
  • Support network re-supply, working closely with internal stakeholders (Quality, Manufacturing) and external partners (couriers, CMOs, customs brokers, and warehouse providers). 
  • Ensure timely and compliant shipments, including documentation preparation, booking, tracking, and post-shipment follow-up, closure and archiving. 
  • Troubleshoot logistics issues and implement corrective actions as needed. 

Compliance & Documentation 

  • Ensure all planning and logistics activities are conducted in compliance with GMP, GDP, and other applicable regulations. 
  • Author, implement and maintain the necessary Supply Chain-related standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. 
  • Collaborate with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure proper handling of clinical and commercial materials. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish processes and capabilities to support ongoing clinical operations and future commercial operations. 

 

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, or related field; Advanced degree or certification is a plus  
  • 5 years total experience, 3+ years in supply chain planning, preferably within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry  
  • Ability to effectively plan, prioritize, execute, follow up and anticipate challenges  
  • Experience managing complex schedules and priorities in dynamic pharmaceutical, biotech or related environments  
  • Ability to work, influence, and gain agreement across multiple functions  
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills  
  • Experience with ERP system implementation  
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with planning and analytics tools such as Smartsheet, Visio, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Power BI
