Full-time fixed-term position through to January 2027
Base salary will be in the range $115,645.22 - $129,654.48 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 8)

The School of Biomedical Sciences (SBMS) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager, Student and Academic Administration to lead and inspire the professional staff team delivering high-quality academic and student support across the School.
Working in close partnership with the Director of Teaching & Learning, this role is central to driving operational excellence and enabling the School to meet its strategic teaching and learning objectives. You will shape team capability, optimise service delivery, and ensure seamless academic administration across the School’s programs.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead and manage the professional staff team and resources to support a high-performing culture.
Oversee and streamline teaching, assessment, and academic administration processes, ensuring data integrity and continuous improvement.
Provide expert advice on policies and student matters, including complex cases and misconduct.
Manage governance requirements, committee support, and represent the School on relevant working groups.
Ensure compliance with University, legislative, OH&S, sustainability, and ESOS requirements.

Salary packaging options
Postgraduate qualifications or progress toward postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant university experience; or management expertise and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated leadership skills in building a strong, positive culture within a complex operating environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills including a demonstrated history of building and maintaining productive working relationships with other organisational units.
Demonstrated effectiveness in the quality delivery of services including a high-level of client service within an environment of constrained resources.
Demonstrated expertise in using large student administration systems and associated corporate systems to source data and deliver reports.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to write with clarity and precision.
A thorough knowledge of student and academic administration legislation, policies and procedures, and the ability to interpret, apply and provide high level advice, including developing policy statements, preparing position papers, detailed reports and other submissions.
A track record of commitment to a culture of continuous improvement and working autonomously, including the ability to identify areas for improvement, lead reviews and successfully implement new business processes.
