AirAsia

Manager, Strategy & PMO

KL Sentral - Redstation Full time

Job Description

About the Role

The Manager, Strategy & PMO (Stays) will work in close partnership with the Head of Stays, playing a pivotal role in driving growth, profitability, and execution excellence across the hotel and bundle (Flight + Hotel) business.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and performance management, ensuring that Stays’ strategic priorities—across commercial, supply, product, marketing, technology, and operations—are translated into clear roadmaps, measurable outcomes, and disciplined on-ground execution.

You will help shape the Stays business strategy, enable data-driven decision-making, and drive cross-functional alignment in a fast-paced, consumer-led digital travel ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Business Planning

  • Develop and continuously refine short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and scalable operations for the Stays business.

  • Support annual and quarterly business planning, target setting, and strategic prioritisation in line with AirAsia MOVE’s overall objectives and P&L commitments.

  • Frame complex commercial, operational, and product challenges; assess strategic options; and deliver clear, actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Partner with commercial and growth teams to identify new monetisation, distribution, and bundling opportunities within the hotel and SNAP ecosystem.

Strategic Execution & PMO

  • Own the end-to-end execution of key strategic initiatives, ensuring clarity on priorities, milestones, owners, dependencies, and timelines.

  • Build and manage an integrated Stays roadmap across commercial, supply, product, marketing, finance, operations, and technology teams.

  • Track progress against committed outcomes, proactively manage risks and trade-offs, and remove blockers to maintain delivery momentum.

  • Drive execution discipline and accountability across cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.

Performance Management & Insights

  • Establish and maintain structured performance management frameworks for core Stays business lines and strategic initiatives.

  • Deep dive into commercial, financial, operational, and customer metrics (e.g. conversion, ADR, margin, supply health, funnel performance) to identify gaps and growth opportunities.

  • Generate high-quality insights through quantitative and qualitative analysis to support leadership decisions and course-correction.

  • Enable transparency and fact-based discussions through regular business reviews and performance updates.

Stakeholder Management & Governance

  • Facilitate cross-functional “big room” or war-room sessions to drive alignment, accelerate decision-making, and clarify execution plans.

  • Act as a trusted thought partner to senior stakeholders within the Stays business and across corporate functions.

  • Ensure strong governance, communication cadence, and follow-through on agreed decisions, actions, and outcomes.

Ad-hoc & Leadership Support

  • Support the Head of Stays and leadership team on strategic deep-dives, priority initiatives, and special projects as required.

  • Prepare high-quality business cases, executive presentations, and financial models for management and board-level discussions.

  • Provide analytical and execution support on time-sensitive or high-impact initiatives.

Key Competencies & Requirements

  • Highly self-driven with a strong sense of ownership and accountability in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

  • Strong business, financial, and commercial acumen; exposure to product, technology, or operations is a strong advantage.

  • Prior experience in strategy, management consulting, business planning, finance, or PMO roles.

  • Proven ability to lead and deliver cross-functional strategic initiatives end-to-end, without direct authority.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, align, and drive execution across diverse teams.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to structure and deliver clear, compelling business narratives and analyses.

  • Highly analytical, structured, and comfortable working with data to inform decisions and recommendations.
