About This Opportunity 

As the Manager, Strategy & Partnerships, you will be a key leader within the Global Strategy and Partnerships team, responsible for defining and driving UQ’s engagement across Latin America, the USA, Canada, and the Pacific. Reporting to the Associate Director, you will translate the Global Engagement Framework into actionable, creative strategies that deliver high level returns on investment for the university. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives on building trust with diverse global stakeholders and leading a team through complex, multi regional projects.

Key responsibilities will include: 

Strategic Direction

  • Develop and evaluate comprehensive country and partner engagement strategies, utilising market intelligence and data sets to map competitors and identify future alliances.

Stakeholder Leadership

  • Manage the end to end activation of global partnerships, fostering credibility with senior academic leaders, government bodies, and international industry partners.

Project & Knowledge Management

  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of international programs, ensuring consistent reporting, innovative communication solutions, and high quality briefing materials for UQ executive leadership.

Team Excellence

  • Direct the work programs of team members, driving a culture of solutions focused thinking and providing mentorship to maintain a high performing, collaborative environment.

Global Representation

  • Undertake interstate and international travel to represent UQ at strategic forums, round tables, and partnership meetings.

About You  

You are an influential communicator and a sophisticated strategist who understands the nuances of international relations and business development. You possess the analytical judgment capabilities to identify trends and the leadership presence to navigate complex institutional environments.

  • Degree (postgraduate preferred) in International Relations, Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of driving global strategy and research excellence within the tertiary education sector and its diverse stakeholder environments.

  • Highly skilled in using market intelligence and data gathering to solve problems and optimise engagement activities.

  • Proven ability to manage work programs, mentor staff, and cultivate an innovative team culture that is resilient and agile.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse cultures and professional settings.

  • Possess a valid passport.
