[What the role is]
As Manager, Research Coordination and Administration, you will assist to drive the effective administration and implementation of national infectious diseases research objectives, strategies, and initiatives in a coordinated manner across all participating institutions in Singapore.
You will oversee the financial and administrative management of national grants and CDA internal funding programmes administered through RCA, supporting and advancing collaborative infectious disease research and public health initiatives nationwide.
This role operates in a fast-paced environment where you will manage multiple stakeholders and priorities simultaneously.
[What you will be working on]
Key responsibilities:
- Administration of national grants and internal funding administer by RCA
- Manage pre- and post-award grant administration activities, including administering grant calls, supporting submission and review processes, organising review panel meetings, processing awards, and handling grant variations and closures
- Facilitate procurement and purchasing processes, process claims and reimbursements, oversee project closures, and compile outcome reports
- Collaborate closely with Principal Investigators, research offices, finance teams, funding agencies, and other key stakeholders
- Monitor and track research progress and key performance indicators across all grants
- Financial management and reporting
- Prepare and monitor budget reports and requisition forms to ensure expenditure compliance with relevant financial guidelines and approval requirements
- Coordinate fund requisition processes by liaising with Principal Investigators on budget projections and expenditure, reviewing financial statements, and preparing requisition templates for approval
- Process fund transfers to project accounts in collaboration with finance teams and respective finance offices
- Handle reimbursement claims for funded projects, including verification of invoices against supporting documents and funding guidelines before processing payments
- Administrative support
- Provide secretariat support for the RCA division and coordinate various initiatives and meetings to facilitate collaboration
- Undertake ad-hoc assignments as directed by the Research Office and Director (RCA)

Job requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree with at least three years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in research administration and grants management, including financial oversight such as processing claims and reimbursements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Self-motivated with strong organisational and problem-solving abilities, able to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to co-create solutions
- Pleasant demeanour with a positive working attitude
Contract terms:
- The successful candidate will be offered an initial 2-year contract.
