Manager, Specialist Sales, SME
Join our Commercial & New Payments Flow team as the Manager, Specialist Sales, New Zealand & Pacific Islands - Small & Medium Enterprises. In this role, you will take ownership of Mastercard's small business product portfolio, encompassing strategy development, analysis, and reporting, as well as product sales and management. You will be responsible for driving the success and performance of Mastercard's small business segment debit and credit products, along with other solutions. Your key objectives will include increasing transaction volume, achieving profitable revenue growth, and collaborating closely with internal teams, as well as external partners such as issuing customers, merchants, strategic partners, and fintech companies. Together, we will create and deliver unique customer value propositions.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive product strategy by gaining an in-depth understanding of the small business segment through benchmarking, competitive analyses, and research. Recommend best practices and develop profitability analyses and business cases.
Execute the strategy by employing structured product sales methodologies and engaging directly with internal and external stakeholders on local and regional levels.
Collaborate with global, regional, and in-market functions across Product Delivery, Implementation, Loyalty, Legal, Marketing, Compliance, and other teams to deliver solutions and support go-to-market plans.
Work with the Account and Sales teams to create compelling customer pitches and presentations.
Monitor competitive products and industry trends, adapting the strategy and associated workstreams to ensure Mastercard's continued success.
Support Account Managers with analytical insights and plans to influence costs and improve revenue at a product and issuer level.
Cultivate strong relationships and foster cooperation with internal stakeholders and customers to achieve our business targets.
Participate in relevant Mastercard and industry events.
Manage the lifecycle of existing partnerships and benefits.
Qualifications:
Entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to enhance customer experiences and develop customer-centric business solutions.
Interest and passion for payments, banking, financial services, e-commerce, and all things digital.
Solid understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends.
Demonstrable experience in the commercial segment, particularly in debit/credit programs, with a focus on the small business segment. Experience in issuing is advantageous.
Strong analytical and product management/sales skills, with a proven track record of achieving objectives.
Ability to build rapport and cultivate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Enjoyment of working in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment, with a desire to contribute fresh ideas to solve dynamic challenges.
Strong business acumen, proficient in relevant tools such as Excel and PowerPoint, and able to create and communicate sales pitches that meet real consumer needs.
