About Gartner IT:
Join a world-class team of skilled engineers who build creative digital solutions to support our colleagues and clients. We make a broad organizational impact by delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that power Gartner. Gartner IT values its culture of nonstop innovation, an outcome-driven approach to success, and the notion that great ideas can come from anyone on the team.
About the role:
This Manager role leads a newly formed Scrum team within the Peer Community product organization in Digital Product Technology (DPT). Peer Community operates as a three-team Scrum organization; this role will build and lead the third team while collaborating closely with the other two to deliver mobile, web and backend platforms and to drive discovery and the architectural runway. Gartner Peer Community is a peer-driven platform where thousands of verified enterprise leaders connect to share knowledge, ask questions, and provide peer feedback that helps inform technology and business decisions.
What you will do:
Build and lead a new Scrum team — recruit, hire, onboard, and grow engineers, and establish a healthy team culture from the ground up.
Own delivery execution — remove blockers, manage dependencies with the other two GPC teams, and ensure your team ships reliably and predictably.
Drive technical direction and architectural decisions in partnership with principal engineers, ensuring integration and interface clarity across all three teams.
Lead discovery and contribute to the architectural runway to maintain delivery readiness and technical alignment.
Champion engineering standards, on-call practices, observability, and non-functional requirements within your team and across the broader GPC org.
Partner with Product and Design to translate customer problems into technical solutions and measurable outcomes.
Represent your team in cross-functional planning, stakeholder conversations, and roadmap prioritization.
Improve engineering processes and tooling to reduce cycle time and increase release stability.
Who you are
Must have:
8+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems.
2+ years of engineering management experience with direct reports.
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing engineering teams, including hiring and onboarding.
Strong technical foundation in at least two of: React/Next.js, React Native, Go — sufficient to guide technical decisions and code review.
Hands-on experience with observability, incident response, and performance tuning.
Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
Experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Scalr).
Experience with Next.js and server-side rendering patterns.
Prior experience in distributed systems, high-traffic services, or data-intensive platforms.
Experience with data science platforms.
Experience working in or scaling agile/scrum delivery models across multiple teams.
Who you are:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science or a related field required
Excellent communication skills.
Able to work independently or within a team proactively in a fast-paced AGILE-SCRUM environment.
Owns success – Takes responsibility for the successful delivery of the solutions.
Strong desire to improve upon their skills in tools and technologies
