Title and Summary
Manager, Software Engineering
Customer Access team is a dynamic group of self-driven, high-performing professionals, each bringing unique expertise to create robust security capabilities that serve as the foundation for application development. This team champions enterprise-grade application architecture and design by fostering holistic software development practices. The responsibilities include guiding architectural and design strategies, building consensus among stakeholders, and building security shared services to support ongoing enterprise-level applications. The team leads the way in implementing customer access security measures, pioneering advancements in software development and automation, and cultivating a culture of excellence throughout the organization.

• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication abilities, as well as effective relationship-building, collaboration, and organizational skills.

• Familiar with agile methods and test-driven software development.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology is required; a Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
Essential Skills
• Software development, design & architecture experience in enterprise grade software solutions.
• Hands on experience required and will be part of the day-to-day activities
• Technical experience using Java, Spring boot , Micro Services and strong on Java Fundamentals.
• Strong on shell scripting fundamentals, CI/CD Automation, Multi-Region Architecture.
• Familiarity with Security standards, Web and API authentication and authorization implementations and protocols (SAML 2.0 & OAuth2.0) is a big plus.
• Good understanding on NoSQL databases, NGINX or other reverse proxies, Redis or caching solutions.
• Cloud platform experience such as Azure , AWS.
• Strong knowledge and experience with software development methodologies, including Scrum, SAFe, Extreme Programming, or Lean.
• Experience in delivering solutions for large-scale deployments across major enterprises or service providers, including those in banking and payment solutions.
Role
• Lead software engineers to implement scalable, resilient security solutions using Java, Spring, Nginx, JavaScript, Redis etc.
• Recruit, supervise, and coach a cross-functional team, including the active support & development of software engineers.
• Monitor objectives for your teams to align with sprint goals and priorities.
• Be a significant, hands-on contributor to the team to plan, design, and develop modern microservice-based solutions.
• Deliver code with exceptional quality and security that operates at scale.
• Perform code reviews, retrospectives, and manage the acceptance of Pull Requests.
• Collaborate with product owners and program managers to bring to life amazing new platform capabilities.
• Ensure that systems your team creates comply with Mastercard engineering best practices and governance models, including security, operations, and Enterprise Architecture requirements.
• Provide guidance to teams on development standards, automation and tools.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and come up with novel ways to solve them.
• Work to define feature requirements and deliver the product that materially impacts the business and improves the consumer experience.
