We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join Snap and spearhead our MAU & Retention team, a dynamic, high-visibility, cross-functional squad of iOS, Android, and Backend engineers dedicated to shipping the features that keep our users coming back. In this pivotal role, you will build and launch features that directly influence how millions of people interact with our app. Your mission is to move fast and experiment boldly, focusing on re-engaging resurrected users and building long-term loyalty for those at risk. What you’ll do:
Own the consistent delivery of high business impact initiatives that span the entire app ecosystem
Collaborate with Product, Operation, Data Science and Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
Lead by example, continuously pushing the team towards aggressive execution and high quality standards
Balance near, medium and long-term objectives to achieve business goals today while laying the foundations for a long term roadmap
Manage and mentor a team of developers, in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment
Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members by creating growth opportunities, giving regular feedback, and managing performance
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Experience with leading an engineering team
A passion for building high-quality, impactful products that delight users
Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders at all levels of a company
Ability leading and executing large, complex initiatives
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2+ years in an Engineering Management role, explicitly owning outcomes for a major product roadmap or large engineering system.
Proven track record of successfully leading, hiring, growing, and retaining high-performing engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments
Demonstrated ability to drive projects across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, Web)
Experience with cross platform mobile frameworks.
Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and strategic plans to diverse audiences, from individual contributors to executive leadership.
Exceptional strategic thinking and ability to translate complex business challenges into concrete engineering initiatives and roadmaps.
A passion for building high-quality, impactful products that delight users and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and socially safe team environment.

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
The base salary range for this position is $229,000-$343,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
