In the Software & Control (SWC) campus in Katowice, we are looking for a Software Development Manager to join our software engineering team. You will be focused on inspiring, motivating, coaching, and leading the team of experienced software engineers. You will hold the accountability for the performance and results of your team and collaborate on new ideas and modern talent management techniques. Responsibilities will be performed in a global environment collaborating with teams and leaders in Asia, Europe and the United States.
This role is located in our Katowice office with a hybrid work system.
You will report directly to Software Development Manager.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead 2-3 agile teams manage the development of new features within our industry-leading design software IDE.
- Ensure product development activities comply with corporate and business level processes and procedures.
- Work with team members and peer managers to develop, implement and continuously improve development processes, ensuring quality products are delivered, predictable manner – "make Rockwell Automation better".
- Encourage a positive and inclusive work environment to foster outstanding performance. Work with leadership to understand and then implement the vision of a performance driven and collaborative workplace.
- Help your team eliminate non-value add work by leading improvement activities in design capabilities and processes so your team is best in class in development execution.
- Drive and support application of Generative AI tools to enhance business innovation, productivity, and engineering efficiency.
- Create an environment that promotes new ideas and effectiveness, fostered by intense collaboration in a hybrid workplace arrangement.
- Hire, onboard and foster career growth of teams and individuals; conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Execute strategy, leveraging multiple internal, external, direct and indirect relationships in a global environment
- Drive organizational goals and KPIs to measure and improve organization effectiveness
- Facilitate meetings, team discussions, and presentations to communicate project status, goals, and strategies.
- Identify and assess risks, develop mitigation strategies
- Build understanding of our products and features
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Software Development, IT or a similar technical discipline.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in product development.
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role
- Technical understanding of software development process, tools and techniques used in mature, complex and reliable solutions.
- Courage, transparency and effectiveness in communication
- English skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated accountability for performance and results
- Legal authorization to work in Poland is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Experience developing technical talent.
- Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies, ideally in a Scaled Agile Framework.
- Experience in building products and solutions for industrial automation, manufacturing systems or similar applications including background with large-scale system development projects.
- Experience working with global team members on multi-campus product development.
