Position Summary

• Lead the local sourcing efforts related to assigned categories: Capital projects, Equipment, MRO/OEM

• Maintain strong alignment to the manufacturing network strategy and initiatives

• Support the business with close partnership with the site management team

• Engage closely with any appropriate sister sites within the GPS network to ensure best value for individual site and network.  

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Maintain/Support continuity of current activities, by managing suppliers and engaging directly with site stakeholders as well as global teams.
  • Lead specific implementation of global projects/processes at the site and all supporting activities to ensure timely execution of the global strategy
  • Lead site efforts for standardization and drive delivery of cost savings/cost avoidances related to the categories managed
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to understand consumption of materials and services, and monitor deliveries and deadlines with suppliers
  • Lead negotiations and operational reviews with Suppliers in scope
  • Investigate, resolve, and record problems such as invoice discrepancies, quality issues, delays etc.
  • Manage CDAs, LOIs, SOWs and MSAs across the site and network
  • Manage accurate reporting of Key Performance Indicator’s (KPI’s) for supplier performance and compliance to contracted terms when applicable
  • Be the first point of contact for pricing and supplier relationship management at the site, and ensure smooth communication between suppliers in scope and the site.
  • Achieve and exceed metrics including value beyond savings, purchase price variance (PPV), cost avoidances, budget management.
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management programs and align with Category Leads when applicable
  • Lead Regional sub-category strategy development and execution in conjunction with relevant category lead when applicable
  • Lead annual raw materials budget process for the site operations, working closely with category leaders, site finance, site supply chain and global finance when applicable
  • Support cGMP or Finance audit activities, as required
  • Identify local suppliers, best practices, and ensure local perspective inclusion in larger global initiative

Qualifications

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Prior stakeholder’s management and Capital project, MRO/OEM procurement experience is mandatory
  • Procurement skills such as developing relationships with suppliers, expediting, prioritizing and negotiating deliveries, analyzing and reporting on supplier performance is a must.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent analytic, interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills
  • Highly experienced in SAP/Ariba and S2P processes
  • Prior cGMP experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical device industry is highly preferred. Comparable controlled industries may be acceptable.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Icertis contract management an asset.
  • Positive, collaborative approach to problem solving. Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated high degree of independence, requiring minimal supervision from senior management.
  • Proactive, creative and analytic approach to continuous improvement in delivering procurement services and identifying new opportunities.

Education/Experience/ Licenses/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration, Biomedical or Pharmaceutical Science preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in Procurement, or related Supplier management  role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Understanding of overall procurement operations related to OSD manufacturing is a strong asset.
