Geico seeks a Manager, Security Operations and Crisis Management, a role combining knowledge in the principles of physical security, vendor management and technical expertise with leadership capabilities to enhance our crisis management capabilities and security operations center. Reporting to the Manager of Technical Security, you’ll manage a security operations center team that leverages specialized training in Geico security technology systems and threat/ intelligence monitoring tools to mitigate against threats to the firm and inform internal stakeholders. This position will also lead the crisis management function for GEICO Safety and Security and assist in the driving of policies, standards and procedures with the intent of safeguarding employees. As a leader in the security department, you'll leverage your experience in security operations to enhance our prevention, detection, and response while adapting to evolving threat landscapes.
Responsibilities:
Manage a team of internal and third-party security analysts responsible for Asset Monitoring and Physical Security Incident response.
Developing workflows, processes, and procedures to manage various crisis at facilities and corporate locations
Develop working relations with partners to include HR, legal, site management, technology to develop a holistic approach to crisis response and communications
Coordinating response to internal and external physical security/life-safety events including security officer dispatch, internal incident communications, and coordination of cross-functional teams
Participate in and make strategic decisions on the growth and direction of the Physical Security department.
Create and maintain all GSOC policies and procedures.
Assist with the Physical Security approval process for high-risk business travel.
Report on GSOC metrics and activities to senior leadership
Regularly review workflows and technology assets to improve operations and reduce resource effort.
Provide ongoing training and development to GSOC team members to hone their skills to improve the GSOC's performance and to enable them to enhance their careers.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proven leadership with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Ability to quickly rebalance priorities as warranted by developing incidents or new information.
Experience liaising with international, federal, state, and local first responder agencies.
Proficient in risk communication from security operations to executive management.
Collaborative skills working across technical and non-technical teams.’
Managing a GSOC in a dynamic and changing environment
Experience with threat intelligence, geo-risk platforms, VMS and event monitoring tools
Utilizing or managing mass notification tools
Implementing/utilizing metrics-based program development
Triaging internal and external physical security/life-safety incidents to determine appropriate level of response.
LOCATION:
Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed and travel up to 25% of the time if needed
Hybrid – 3 days/week in CHEVY CHASE, MD
Annual Salary
$109,675.00 - $212,175.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
