Position Summary: 

This role is responsible to lead and manage the department sales team by developing and implementing territory sales plan by Sales Associate (for both corporate stores and independent operators). This includes overseeing and managing Sales and administrative staff, as well as formulating strategies and following up on execution.  

 

Here's what you’ll do:  

  • Develop annual and seasonal business plan and sales and marketing strategy to ensure achievement of revenue and profit goals.  

  • Develop strong customer relationships, improve customer loyalty, ensure responsive communication, and expedite problem resolution.  

  • Create and execute sales and marketing plans specific to individual retailers based upon consumer, category, and competitive insights that drive profitable growth and market share for the Company.  

  • Ensure that team activities increase sales with new item introduction, maximize purchase concentration, and capitalize on marketing trends by leveraging merchandising and marketing programs.  

  • Ensure retailers understands all the services the Company provides, especially its ability to deliver quality product to customers.  

  • Prepare and provide formal business reviews for individual customers on an annual basis and assist in developing long-term plans for improved performance.  

  • Measure the outcome of business-building initiatives and identify opportunity gaps to ensure growth.  

  • Provide expertise to customers on operational and merchandising matters; present new ideas to upper management to increase sales; and develop and achieve sales, service income and expense budgets.  

  • Responsible to lead and facilitate Retail Advisory Board meetings and to oversee and coordinate department Retail Selling Shows.  

  • Responsible for department management including staffing, training, performance management and career development of associates, and developing and monitoring department goals.   

  • Develop and monitor department budget as required.  

  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.  

 

Here’s what you’ll need:  

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required) Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Five years combined experience in sales and account management.  

  • Experience in a grocery, wholesale, or food industry environment preferred.  

  • Two years supervisory experience.   

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills.   

  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.   

  • Strong organizational, planning, leadership and team building skills.   

  • Demonstrated knowledge of products and services, and industry trends.   

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.   

  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
