Role and Responsibilities

The Manager of Retail Risk Management is to define, prioritize, and monitor key metrics for retail to measure the effectiveness of the operation and to provide strategic recommendations to drive revenue growth.  The Manager of Retail Business Risk Management will spend 60-70% supporting the Samsung Experience Store and 30%-40% on other retail channels.

The Manager will synthesize insights through data analysis to enable data-driven decisions that help grow Samsung's revenue and market share.  The Manager will work with teams across retail, identify growth opportunities and lead special projects to address the same, develop new KPIs, and continue overseeing the current reporting and analytics requirements to support the business. 

They should be a strategic, analytical, and detail-oriented individual who can lead a project along with inter-team collaboration skills. They must be able to apply a wide range of knowledge, technical skills, and abilities to design and recommend strategic initiatives that drive sellout and market share.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide analytical validation for the effectiveness of the Samsung Experience Store Operation, including promotion, marketing, trade-in, event, and services to provide analytical support for business decision-making involving cross-departmental and multi-functional areas.
  • Identify critical retail focus on driving sellouts, incremental revenue, and strategy development through data analysis, data exploration, collaboration, ideation, target implementation, performance tracking, predictive analytics, opportunity identification
  • Apply expertise in quantitative and qualitative analysis to synthesize trends into actionable insights and recommendations and articulate the story behind the numbers.
  • Conduct Industry analysis: Analyze trends, patterns, early warnings, and forecasts. Utilize syndicated and other sources for periodic Retail industry assessment.
  •  Total addressable retail market analysis: Internal, external view of Samsung mobile device categories including Samsung Experience Stores and Carrier channels
  • Support the Sr. Manager in establishing and maintaining regular automated system based reporting that analyzes data from multiple sources that provide insights into the performance of the Mobile business
  • Collaborate with the cross functional including retail data analytics team in developing and maintaining the validity of the retail initiatives and executions.
  • Collaborate with Retail teams to identify current gaps and emerging trends and recommend solutions based on quantitative analyses and market insights
  • Prepare presentations and updates to leadership and headquarters as needed

Skills and Qualifications

Background/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar field of study (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • 6+ years of work experience in Management support, Business performance analytics, Data analytics, Sales Analytics or Strategic Planning (Can be 4 with Master’s degree)
  • Advanced Excel and Power Point skills; intermediate skills with Tableau
  • Ability to source, combine and synthesize large amounts of data from various sources
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience building and delivering presentations. Collaboration within Retail teams is a priority for this role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand root cause & effect
  • Capability to thrive in dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize multiple complex assignments and projects. Read and interpret detailed and complex customer requirements
