A Day in the Life:
• Maintain and support core application systems serving retail corporate offices and stores across Japan.
• Manage and facilitate change requests for operational systems, including POS, eCommerce, CRM, and other global and local retail solutions.
• Lead and support new store openings (NSO) in Japan by ensuring full readiness of all retail related application platforms.
• Ensure that deployed technology solutions meet business needs, operational requirements, and quality standards.
• Oversee competing priorities, resources, and deliverables to ensure projects are executed on time and with high quality.
• Partner closely with the Corporate Technology team to drive and deliver technology initiatives within Japan as required.
• Manage third party vendors to ensure effective service delivery, operational reliability, and compliance with SLAs.
• Provide regular operational metrics and performance reporting to monitor system health, ensure availability, and drive continuous improvement.
• Support additional technology initiatives and business expansion activities as needed to enable company growth.
To Land This Role:
• Approximately 10 years overall experience in IT applications, of which 5+ years as IT Manager, in MNC or similar organization.
• Practical hands-on experience in retail POS, or eCommerce, CRM or other retail technology solutions.
• 2+ complete Retail/digital/CRM project implementation experience in Japan or Asia region
• Proven track record with at least two E2E Retail, Digital, or CRM project implementations in Japan or the broader Asia region.
• Strong relationship and experience with service providers in Japan.
• Strong leadership skills to effectively mentor and motivate high performing team of employees, contractors and agencies with ability to drive change
• Fluent in Japanese and English, with excellent communication and presentation capabilities.
• A self-starter who thrives on technical challenges and proactively embraces new opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
