What is the Opportunity?
As a manager on the Relocation Management team, you will be an integral part of the Global Mobility Centre of Expertise comprised of Relocation Management, Immigration, and Mobility Tax. The team supports RBC’s global businesses that have mobile employees within North America, the Caribbean, Europe, UK and Asia Pacific.
As a manager on the Relocation Management team, you’ll provide relocation advisory and operational support for global employee transfers and assignments across US, Canada, UK, Europe, Caribbean and Asia Pacific. You’ll directly impact employee experience at scale, serve as a trusted advisor to HR leaders and executives, and have a voice in shaping relocation management practices. This role combines hands-on expertise with strategic influence—balancing policy compliance, employee needs, and business objectives while championing process improvements and emerging technologies to drive cost optimization and accelerated delivery. As a key member of the Total Rewards Delivery function, you will ensure compliance and operational efficiency at every stage of the mobility lifecycle.
This role reports to the Senior Manager, Global Mobility Relocation Management and directly supervises one Global Mobility Advisor and one Global Mobility Analyst.
What will you do?
People Management & Leadership
Supervise, train, and develop two direct reports with regular feedback and performance management.
Coach team members on career development and professional growth.
Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
Act as an escalation point for complex, sensitive, or high-visibility matters.
Support vendor management initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Hands-On Global Mobility Advice & Complex File Management
Manage end-to-end international transfers, assignments, and relocations.
Provide strategic counsel to business partners and executives on mobility implications and risks.
Serve as the primary point of contact for relocating employees and key stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with immigration regulations, tax requirements, and organizational policy.
Liaise with external suppliers to resolve complex issues and escalations.
Provide preliminary immigration and relocation assessments to inform early talent decisions.
Process Automation & Optimization
Identify and champion automation opportunities and emerging technologies to streamline workflows.
Develop standardized processes and best practices for relocation management.
Foster an innovation mindset and advocate for continuous improvement.
Partner with functional teams to evaluate and execute automation initiatives.
Policy
Interpret and apply relocation policies, ensuring consistency and compliance.
Conduct regular reviews of processes; recommend enhancements for evolving business needs.
Stay abreast of changing legislation and regulations.
Provide recommendations on policy exceptions and enterprise risk considerations.
Reporting & Stakeholder Management
Provide regular updates on team performance, key metrics, and initiatives.
Present data-driven insights on mobility trends and operational improvements.
Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders on portfolio performance.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
5+ years of experience in relocation management.
College or University degree.
Demonstrated experience managing complex international transfers across multiple jurisdictions.
Prior people management experience with a proven track record.
Deep, current knowledge of relocation management across key jurisdictions.
Recognized as a trusted advisor on complex relocations and policy interpretation.
Strategic thinking and complex problem-solving ability.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Ability to work effectively across functions and build trust with partners.
Preferred:
Canadian Employee Relocation Council (CERC) Accreditation.
Experience working in financial services or regulated environments.
Comfort with Excel, Word, AI tools, and emerging technologies.
