Job Description

The Manager Rebate Accounting is responsible for managing month-end/year-end close processes, reporting and analysis related to rebates in order to inform decision-making and provide value to clients. This position owns the full scope accounting process for pharmacy and medical rebate transactions for optimized outcomes. This position interacts with and provides financial support to departments across the organization and will also be visible to members of the senior leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and manage team members to deliver on department goals, coordinate workload, ensure quality, establish procedures, meet client/customer expectations, and manage the costs of the services being provided
  • Proactively partner with internal departments on assessing financial performance of rebates related to monthly rebate financial estimates, rebate reserves, rebate guarantees and other judgmental rebate related accounting items
  • Manage the monthly/quarterly accounting and financial rebate reporting processes including oversight of all rebate related balance sheet account reconciliations while ensuring compliance with GAAP, corporate policies, and industry regulations
  • Collaborate and share perspectives with internal departments and other key stakeholders in the business for aligned goals on rebates, includes providing comprehensive, accurate, timely and relevant rebate performance analysis and reporting to Prime management
  • Support the financial statement and other audits related to rebate accounting operations
  • Maintain a system of internal controls for rebate accounting, providing leadership and accounting perspective for system enhancements and other initiatives as it relates to the rebate accounting processes
  • Review and assess the impacts of new client contracts, product offerings or other initiatives to ensuring appropriate accounting for rebates in accordance with company policies and GAAP
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience
  • 6 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance to include 2 years of experience in a PBM, healthcare or insurance organization and 2 years of experience with US GAAP accounting
  • 1 year of leadership/people management experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated skills in communication and financial presentations to all levels of management
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of PBM experience
  • 2 years of experience in rebates
  • CPA or CMA

Potential pay for this position ranges from $81,000.00 - $138,000.00 based on experience and skills.
