Manager, Real-World Evidence Analytics

The Role:

ModernaTX, Inc. seeks a Manager, Real-World Evidence Analytics for its Cambridge, Massachusetts location.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

  • Support Real-World Evidence (RWE) studies focused on vaccine effectiveness, adherence patterns, disease burden, and healthcare resource utilization and costs, to generate timely insights for regulatory submissions and Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) cost-effectiveness modeling.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams – including Epidemiology, HEOR, Safety, Medical Affairs, and Pharmacovigilance – to support RWE strategy development, protocol and analysis plan design, results interpretation, and publication/dissemination of findings.

  • Represent the RWE Analytics team in cross-organizational efforts, selecting and applying appropriate statistical and machine learning methods in order to ensure alignment with scientific and business objectives.

  • Partner with the Digital team and external vendors to support the development, testing, and maintenance of scalable, internal analytical platforms.

  • Execute end-to-end RWE studies, feasibility assessments, and ad hoc analyses using tools such as SAS/SAS macros, SQL, R/R Shiny, GitHub, Python, and STATA.

  • Conduct routine data quality assessments of real-world data (RWD) sources, including Medicare, Medicaid, commercial claims, and electronic health records.

  • Manage and maintain clinical code lists (diagnosis, procedure, drug/vaccine codes), ensuring quality and consistency using R, Python, Excel, VBA, and AI-assisted tools.

  • Develop and document user-defined functions in R and SQL, along with quick-start guides to enable efficient and standardized use of commonly leveraged RWD sources.

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field and 4 years of experience in the offered position or as a RWE Scientist, Analytics Scientist, Statistician, Statistical/Data Analyst or related position.

  • Must have at least 4 years of experience with:

    • Statistical Programming languages and tools including R/R Shiny, SAS/SAS macros, STATA, Python, SQL, GitHub, Excel VBA, and user-defined function development;

    • Applying statistical methods relevant to RWE study, including comparative testing, propensity score matching, advanced regression modeling, survival analysis, causal inference, sampling theory, and machine learning;

    • Designing, executing, interpreting and disseminating analyses using Real-World Data (RWD) sources;

    • Curating, validating and maintaining clinical code lists and RWD pipelines;

    • Data analysis using knowledge of Healthcare Payment Reimbursement Policy and Regulatory Frameworks, Electric Health Record and Claims Data Standards, Medical Code Ontologies and drug classification systems.

  • May telecommute 30% of the time.

The salary range for this role is $121,600 to $194,500. This range reflects the lowest to highest salary we, in good faith, believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The minimum target pay for this particular position, based on its primary location, is $170,000 to $194,500. An individual’s placement within the range will depend on several factors, including but not limited to specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs.
