Job Description Summary:
The Quality and Food Safety Manager will provide a range of quality, food safety, regulatory and technical leadership experience in the beverage and/or food industry to support Supplier Quality onboarding function. This position requires expertise in auditing and onboarding new suppliers, microbiological risk assessments, regulatory compliance of ingredients/packaging material and investigation of non-conformances to drive corrective actions. This position will report to the Senior Director on Quality and Food Safety.
What You'll Do for Us
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage on an ongoing basis the technical relationship between QSE and our suppliers
Continually onboard new ingredient and packaging material suppliers
Review and approve all new ingredients, and packaging materials and sites
Prioritize based on risk and develop a calendar for Quality & Food Safety audits and assessments of supplier sites
Lead microbiological risk assessments on ingredients
Ensure regulatory compliance of ingredients and packaging materials for countries of sale of finished product including US, Mexico, and Canada
Manage and keep updated all supplier and material documentation including annual reviews
Investigate non-conformances and drive effective CAPAs for all supplier related incidents
Monitor and drive supplier compliance and performance
Develop and manage supplier related metrics and internal and external reporting
Support the continued development of Quality and Food Safety standards and guidance documents
Work closely with Sourcing, NPD, Regulatory, and cross functional teams to drive compliance to standards
Manage certification programs including Kosher and bottle deposits
Additional responsibilities include supporting Quality in Design innovation, renovation, and productivity initiatives. This includes assessing and approving QFS criteria in finished product specifications.
What You'll Need
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in food science or relevant science discipline required
Master’s degree preferred
5 years’ experience in Quality and Food Safety in the food or beverage industry required
