Key Responsibilities:

Safety First:

  • Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

Technical:

  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems at the plant and suppliers
  • Ensure accurate Product, Process and Systems Auditing in conformance with the Quality Management Systems requirements 
  • Ensure Supplier Quality Assurance conforms with ISO requirements
  • Manage safety and housekeeping in compliance with company and OHS Act requirements

Quality Control

  • Liaise with internal and external customers to resolve quality-related problems
  • Set objectives and detail action plans to achieve results
  • Responsible for cost centre budget and expenses
  • Control and management of quality assurance team
  • Daily and monthly reporting to senior management on Key performance indicators.

Continuous Improvement

  • Manage performance of subordinates.
  • Ensure that all customer requirements are met.
  • Continuous improvement of product quality and systems by analysing performance and implement corrective action when required.
  • Manage customer requests/ complaints and warranties
  • Manage quality performance indicators.
  • Train and mentor subordinates.

Performance

  • Manage performance of subordinates.
  • Ensure that all customer requirements are met.
  • Develop quality framework (Drive succession planning)
  • Continuously improve QMS in-line with customer expectations.
  • Support plant manager, report scrap rate daily and have monitoring control in place

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum Qualification: B-Tech degree in Quality Management
  • Master’s degree in quality management (Advantageous)
  • Minimum 5-year experience as a Quality Department Manager in a similar complex manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5-year experience on press tools or assembly process.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Heavy Engineering
  • Experience in Total Quality Management, ISO Standards (Standard Internal Auditor) and Exposure to Lean Manufacturing Principles.
