Private capital administration- manager, private equity fund administration

Role

Responsible for managing the Private Equity Accounting group(s).   Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the relevant groups. Makes staffing decisions, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities.  Key decision-maker for the salary review process.  Manages and directs individuals within the relevant groups, usually through relevant direct reports.  Participates in developing/provides input and support to the strategic plan and budge management process.  Provides additional leadership support within large specialized groups.

core skills and competencies required

  • Responsible for managing the Private Equity Accounting group(s).
  • Strong accounting / financial services/ Private equity work experience or equivalent knowledge in NAV and audited financial statement delivery.
  • Demonstrate through examples /evidence of strong operations knowledge including secondary review & controls, risks & mitigation
  • Demonstrate through examples /evidence day to day team management, mentor/coach team members and share feedback
  • Demonstrate/exhibit through examples/evidence, the above listed core skills and competencies viz-a-viz team development, succession planning, talent mapping and escalation of issues.
  • Good analytical, numerical and reasoning skills.
  • Good time management and delegation skills.
  • Approachable and able to promote teamwork through creative solutions.
  • Self-starter with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency of MS Office specifically Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent spoken and written English and the ability to write business correspondence, independently address technical & non-technical issues, conduct knowledge share / training sessions, proactively troubleshoot and manage escalations, and work with global teams.
  • Drive Productivity and Efficiency – good understanding of tools and applications. Able to implement change with great efficiency.

major duties and key responsibilities

People Management

  • Ensures that adequate training/cross training is provided to all employees, identify any training and development needs for the team members and establish performance standards for the team.
  • Conducts 1:1s and performance appraisal, effectively and efficiently manages direct reports and Team through the "employee journey".
  • Supports employees in their individual career aspirations which involves either growing in their current team or movement to another functional area.
  • Demonstrates a fair and equitable approach in recognizing, rewarding and developing each individual
  • Creates and fosters an inclusive environment where team members interact with trust, respect and a shared sense of purpose and collective impact.

Risk Management

  • Understand operational risk and how to mitigate it.
  • Generating efficiencies within the team and effective utilization of resources.
  • Monitor team goals as measured against the KPIs, produces on time MIS reports and identify process failures to improve quality percentages.
  • Work towards improving performance through system development and continuous training.
  • Maintain effective communication channels at all levels.
  • Keep appraised of industry and regulatory development.
  • Follow the goals and priorities based on the direction set for the department/team.
  • Monitors staffing needs, including hiring and performance improvement decisions, handles salary administration, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities.

education and Qualifications:

  • Master / Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/tech.
  • 10+ years of experience in Fund Administration and accounting with minimum 3+ years of experience in a people manager role. 2+ years in managing PE and Real Estate clients.

Eligibility for Internal Partner

•3 years as a Team Leader to move as a Section Manager currently at an Officer level.
•24 months as a Consultant to move as a Senior Consultant. Movement within Senior Consultant and Section Manager is applicable if they have prior 36 months of people management experience.
