About Professional Services
The Professional Services Division is responsible for industry development and investment promotion for Singapore's professional services sector. We engage with a diverse range of professional services firms - including accounting, consulting, marketing, engineering services, legal, and risk management, among others - to support their establishment and expansion in Singapore. The team works closely with these firms to grow and enhance the capabilities and vibrancy of the professional services sector, strengthening Singapore's position as a trusted business hub.
The team also engages in a range of activities from industry studies, research and statistical analysis to develop and execute strategies for industry development, investment promotion and account management. The Professional Services division partners a wide range of leaders and stakeholders from across the public and private sectors to jointly develop and implement strategies across the ecosystem.

[What you will be working on]

Responsibilities
Account Management: 

  • Lead a portfolio of corporate client relationships, driving end-to-end account development, investment project negotiation, and client servicing.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships and build trust with key company executives, to understand the company’s priorities, and pursue new growth opportunities
  • Develop deep understanding of clients, their needs, operations, and structure to develop/ refresh client engagement strategies
  • Identify, negotiate and structure project opportunities to secure “win-win” outcomes for clients and Singapore 
  • Recommend appropriate solutions, whether standard or customised, to effectively address client needs and resolve challenges.
  • Collaborate with other teams in EDB and in other parts of the Singapore Government for project development, related negotiations and smooth execution of end-to-end project implementation 
  • Build sound understanding of regional/ global industry and business trends, industry synergies, whole-of-government offerings, and spread of EDB’s products and services to create project opportunities and value-add to client relationships
     

Strategy development and execution:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of global trends under guidance, including those pertaining to technology, business models, regulations and skills to derive relevant insights and implications for Singapore’s professional services ecosystem development strategies  
  • Design and develop value propositions and programmes to encourage companies in the selected sectors under Professional Services (Accounting, Consulting, Marketing, Engineering services, Legal, and Risk management) to set up relevant headquarters / business activities in Singapore, through working closely with other teams in EDB and relevant external partners in government and industry 
  • Implement strategies, policy changes and relevant industry development programmes, through working closely with internal stakeholders and industry and government agency partners

[What we are looking for]

Requirements

To meet the challenges of this role, you must have/be:

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in client engagement, industry development or Engineering Services/Built Environment sector
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – able to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Adaptable – able to identify and respond quickly to changes in the business environment and changes in priorities
  • Keen business acumen – able to identify opportunities for Singapore at an industry level
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – able to communicate ideas clearly and succinctly
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills – able to work in cross-functional project teams, manage multiple workstreams, and deliver outcomes effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking, high learning agility - able to structure analysis for complex / ambiguous issues, use qualitative and quantitative data to make sense of new subject matter to distil insights and actionable solutions
  • Good team player and an independent thinker
  • Experience in quantitative analysis will be an advantage
