Position Overview
Mastercard’s Network Products team in EEMEA seeks a Product Manager to lead Real Time Clearing (RTC) solutions, focusing on go-to-market strategies, commercialization, and RTC implementations for Acquirers and Issuers.
Key Responsibilities
• Business Development and Product Awareness:
A significant part of the role involves identifying new opportunities for RTC. The Product Manager will work closely with Technical Account Managers (TAM) and Account Managers (AM) to schedule and deliver RTC overview sessions for potential new customers. There is a proactive emphasis on managing a healthy sales or client pipeline. Additionally, the Product Manager will represent RTC at technology conferences and AOW (Academy on Web) sessions, building product awareness for internal and facilitating the acquisition of new clients.
• Data Analytics and Value Proposition:
Utilise data analytics to determine the potential benefits for new customers from RTC. Leverage these insights to craft a compelling value story that demonstrates the advantages of adopting RTC.
• Collaboration on Global Product Initiatives and GTM Strategy:
The Product Manager will collaborate closely with the global product team to announce RTC mandates in other countries EEMEA, following established precedents such as the mandate introduced in South Africa. This collaboration ensures consistency and alignment with Mastercard’s global product strategy. Working with cross-functional teams, the Product Manager will help develop pricing proposals that ensure fair pricing, protect revenue, and align with Mastercard’s overall strategic objectives for RTC products.
• Product Improvement and Customer Feedback:
Gather and analyze customer feedback to pinpoint opportunities for product enhancement. Partner with the Global Product Team for inclusion in future roadmaps.
• Studio Process and Legal Coordination:
The role involves partnering with cross-functional teams to secure all necessary studio gate approvals for product commercialization. The Product Manager is also responsible for coordinating with the legal team to prepare enrolment forms and other legal agreements, carry out comprehensive legal reviews, and obtain OneTrust approvals required for product launch and compliance.
• RTC Implementation and Customer Support:
The Product Manager will oversee the implementation of RTC for customer across EEMEA. This includes responding promptly to customer inquiries and facilitating technical workshops, which are developed in collaboration with cross-functional Mastercard teams. These workshops are designed for the technical staff of customers to ensure that enrolled clients are on track to achieve the objective of processing 100% of their transactions through real-time clearing. Maintain close involvement with customer escalations and production issues, ensuring that cross-functional teams are focused on prompt resolution to support effective customer management.

•Subject matter expertise in cards and payments is required, with a focus on transaction switching or processing. A strong understanding of the four-party model and concepts such as authorization, clearing, and settlement is essential.
•The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, easy to work with, socially intelligent, witty, and thinks creatively.
•A self-starter and quick learner with ability to work independently.
•Have strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate numbers into insights and tell a story behind them.
•The ability to create clear and engaging visual presentations, including effective data visualization and compelling slide decks, is important.
•Excellent leadership, project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills are required. The candidate should have a proven track record of building relationships and working independently.
•Experience working directly with customers is essential, as is the ability to interact with various levels of leadership across the organization and with both internal and external clients. The candidate should be capable of leading and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
•Education: Bachelor’s degree required. MBA/Post Graduate preferred.
