Job Summary:.

We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Procurement Manager with a strong interest in leveraging technology to drive procurement excellence. The ideal candidate will be passionate about utilizing advanced procurement platforms, including Ariba, and expanding the use of online tools to optimize sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing operations. Experience or interest in incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into procurement processes to streamline workflows and save time is highly valued.

At Lilly Canada, we have different levels of Procurement positions based on the candidate’s experience, background, and qualifications. The expected compensation is:  

                                                                                     
• Senior Associate Procurement: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 CAD
• Manager Procurement: $93,750.00 - $137,500.00 CAD


This role is eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as participation in the Lilly Bonus Program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and execute procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best value in terms of price, quality, and delivery.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and build long-term, strategic partnerships.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs and improve efficiency.
  • Oversee and streamline the end-to-end procurement process and identify improvements.
  • Build and maintain accurate procurement records while using data insights to optimize purchasing decisions and reporting.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and other departments.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Collaborate proactively with the Strategic Sourcing team, Center of Excellence, and other procurement functions to leverage their specialized expertise and capabilities, ensuring alignment with best practices and maximizing value across procurement activities.
  • Champion the adoption and expanded utilization of online procurement tools, including Ariba, to enhance sourcing, supplier management, and purchasing efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in procurement. Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and be proactive in problem-solving.
  • Resilient under pressure, with a strong ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Ability to drive digital transformation initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement through technology adoption

On-site presence at our Toronto office will be 10 days or more per month (or at least 50% of the time), determined in collaboration with your manager and based on business needs. Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$75,000 - $137,500

Full-time equivalent employees may also be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
