Location/Division Specific Information

We are looking for an engaging and forward-thinking PPI Manager to lead continuous improvement activity at our Warrington site. This is a key role focused on driving operational excellence, building capability in lean methodologies, and developing a culture where colleagues are empowered to improve how work gets done every day.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to find opportunities, guide teams through the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) framework, and deliver enduring results that make a real difference to our customers and our people.

A day in the Life:

  • Lead a portfolio of improvement initiatives, ensuring delivery of measurable outcomes in quality, cost, service, and colleague experience.
  • Facilitate value stream mapping, Kaizen events, root cause analysis and daily management systems, coaching teams to develop their own improvement capability.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and operational teams across manufacturing, quality, supply chain and engineering to align improvement outcomes with site priorities.
  • Develop and sustain PPI visual management practices, including Roadmaps, performance boards, engagement boards, and monthly reporting for the Leadership Team.
  • Influence and support the site PPI Steering Committee, accelerating cultural adoption of the PPI Business System across the organisation.
  • Build capability across the site, mentoring PPI specialists and coaching colleagues in effective problem-solving and lean practices.
  • Act as a guide for PPI, staying updated with guidelines from across Thermo Fisher and the wider industry.
  • Champion a proactive, inclusive and committed culture, ensuring improvements positively impact customer, financial, quality, and colleague wellbeing metrics.

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Degree in engineering, science, business, operations management, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Green Belt certification preferred, Black Belt or advanced Lean training advantageous.

Experience

  • Experience in continuous improvement or Lean leadership, ideally within manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of lean tools: VSM, 5S, Kanban, standard work, daily visual management, Gemba, and improvement funnels.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional improvement projects, providing mentorship to teams, and influencing senior collaborators.

Experience building capability and supporting cultural change is highly desirable
