SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Manager, Pipeline Engineering provides leadership for the development and implementation of corporate designs, maintenance, improvement, and expansion of SaskEnergy’s pipeline systems in a safe, reliable and cost-effective manner. This includes engineering activities related to applied research, project management and leading major pipeline projects, as well as identification and recommendation of cost-effective business solutions to support departmental and corporate objectives.
Non-union. This position is permanent full time.
Manage and provide leadership to assigned staff and contractors in the delivery of effective and efficient engineering services.
Oversee staff and contractor design, software implementations and business reports to ensure quality and company standards are met.
Monitor progress of assignments and projects, ensuring compliance with policies, guidelines and legislative/regulatory requirements and to ensure workgroup commitments are met.
Lead in the development of pipeline standards, specifications and operating procedures and review, audit and follow-up to ensure compliance.
Lead the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of advanced technology and systems that provide business benefits of reduced costs or enhancements to business process or information.
Represent the company on industry technical committees; assist in finding solutions for the pipeline industry.
Work with staff to develop individual performance, training and developmental plans and hold staff and contractors accountable for goals and work performance.
Other related duties as assigned.
Degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental, Industrial or Petroleum preferred, others may also be considered).
Professional Engineer Designation registered to practice in Saskatchewan.
Seven (7) years of progressive engineering experience related to the design and construction of pipelines and associated pipeline facilities in the oil and gas industry.
Ability to coach and mentor employees while building and maintaining effective relationships and empowering team members to succeed.
Ability to foster a culture focused on innovation and teamwork.
Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
