Job Description

Finance & Audit ITs (FIAT) BMO team is responsible for overseeing the forecast and planning of C$150MM+ NIE budget utilized for app development, app maintenance, and software licenses.  As Manager, Performance Management, you will support the forecasting and planning of Finance & Audit IT's spend on app maintenance and software licenses. This role will also be responsible for the oversight of project management tools to ensure appropriate IT cost recovery to various lines of businesses. You will report on various key performance indicators to Senior Management related to financial health and resource capacity trends. In addition, you will work intimately with project managers to leverage best practices on project expenditure management.

What will you do?

  • Project Management Tools Administration: Provide administration for Finance and Audit IT's project management tools (Planview/MIS) for Finance and Audit IT's maintenance portfolio of ~$30mm+, including the creation/upkeep/closure of projects, population of key data attributes and ensuring proper resource cost recovery of all IT personnel.
  • Financial Management: Support project managers and delivery leads in administering project management tools and managing all aspects of financials (monitoring of actuals vs plan, forecasting, processing of invoices)
  • Reporting & Analytics: Support executive and portfolio level financial/KPI reporting; automate existing reporting and enhance data visualization/analytics through various productivity tools (Tableau, VBA, AI (RBC Assist) etc); develop new automated solutions to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Financial Controls: Maintain a healthy, accurate financial control environment within the Finance IT Business Management Office, reinforcing our role as the source of financial truth (App Dev, Maintenance, 3rd Party, NIE, etc)
  • Performance Metrics: Monitoring and communicating key performance metrics and operational challenges
  • Change Management: Implement change management as required for new implementations and enhancements for project management tools
  • Cost Allocation: Leverage cost metrics to accurately allocate production support costs across applications.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with project managers with ad-hoc inquiries on forecasting, budgeting and planning.

What do you need to succeed? Must Have’s:

  • Bachelor’s degree, with a focus in finance, accounting, computer science, business or mathematics. 
  • Experience in a financial control environment 
  • Data analytics and reporting experience on large, multi-source datasets
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools 
  • Basic financial services and accounting knowledge 

Nice to Have:

  • Previous experience with Tableau, SQL, Planview 
  • Experience in an IT delivery team with a focus on project management, and the systems development lifecycle 
  • CPA, PMP, MBA designation(s) 
  • Experience with Generative AI and agentic systems
