Why this Role Exists
 
The Manager, Patient Recruitment at Profound Research oversees day-to-day patient engagement operations, ensuring effective execution of patient recruitment strategies for clinical trials. This role manages the recruiter team that is responsible for pre-screening, screen scheduling, and additional community engagement efforts. By maintaining compliance with clinical and regulatory standards and fostering collaboration across sites, the Manager ensures efficient, high-quality patient recruitment to support successful trial outcomes.
 
Responsibilities 

Leadership & Operational Management

- Manage daily operations of embedded and central recruiters, overseeing patient identification, outreach, and scheduling for screening visits.

- Train and develop recruitment staff, ensuring consistency and quality in chart review, pre-screening, patient outreach, and scheduling activities.

- Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of inclusion/exclusion criteria for all enrolling protocols.

- Oversee patient recruitment and pre-screening processes in line with company SOPs, FDA, ICH, and global regulations.

- Provide leadership and support to recruitment teams across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to organizational policies.

- Monitor and manage performance of members of the recruiting team.

- Address staffing needs in collaboration with HR.

Recruitment Strategy & Execution

- Develop, manage, and continuously improve processes for pre-screening, scheduling, and follow-up to ensure efficient patient enrollment.

- Collaborate with site leadership to align recruitment efforts with study protocols and site priorities.

Quality Control & Performance Metrics

- Track and report on key recruitment metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.

- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and quality standards.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the recruitment team.

Collaboration & Support

- Serve as liaison between recruitment teams, investigators, and site operations.

- Partner with Manager, Patient Recruitment Analytics & Marketing on requesting patient lists from partner Electronic Medical Records.  Provide feedback on community outreach tactics and campaigns on quality of leads for screens, identifying trends about leads that no show, do not quality, or screen fail.

- Support feasibility assessments and collaborate with the business development team on recruitment considerations.

- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless recruitment operations.

- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
 
Requirements      
 
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field or equivalent clinical training (e.g., RN, EMT).

- Clinical research experience required; medical background preferred.

- Proven experience managing teams in a clinical research or patient recruitment setting.

- Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to travel to various sites as needed.

- Commitment to operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
 
Travel Requirements
 
- Less than 5% travel anticipated.
