About the role

As the Manager – Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity, you’ll be a key leader protecting AGL’s generation sites and critical infrastructure from evolving cyber threats. You’ll drive the uplift of cybersecurity maturity across diverse operational environments, develop innovative solutions to support the transition to renewables, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.  

This role leads a national team of OT cybersecurity engineers, partnering with site, engineering, cybersecurity and control system teams to deliver strategic security initiatives. You’ll be responsible for incident response, proactive threat management, vulnerability and risk management, and embedding best-practice security into everyday operations.  

What you’ll be doing 

  • Lead and mentor a national OT cybersecurity team, building capability and fostering continuous improvement.  

  • Manage OT cybersecurity operations using a comprehensive toolset. 

  • Develop and manage OT security baseline documentation and processes in line with governance frameworks and standards.  

  • Ensure compliance with AESCSF, SOCI Act, internal standards and other relevant legislation and standards.  

  • Partner with site technology, engineering, and control system teams to uplift security maturity.  

  • Oversee OT/ICS incident response planning, playbook development, and execution.  

  • Drive proactive threat hunting, vulnerability management, and cyber simulation exercises.  

  • Provide strategic advice and technical expertise to internal stakeholders and senior leadership.  

  • Monitor and assess emerging threats, adapting security strategies accordingly.  

 

What you’ll bring 

  • Proven experience leading OT/ICS cybersecurity functions in critical infrastructure or industrial environments.  

  • Extensive technical expertise in the complexities of cybersecurity within operational technology environments. 

  • Strong understanding of relevant frameworks and standards (AESCSF, SOCI Act, IEC 27001, IEC 62443).  

  • Ability to design and implement governance, compliance, and uplift programs.  

  • Experience leading incident response and threat detection activities.  

  • A collaborative leadership style that develops people, builds trust, and drives results.
