The Manager, Operations provides leadership and strategic direction for teams that drive efficient, compliant, and continuously improving manufacturing operations. This role oversees Deviation Management, Batch Record Review, Process Improvement, and Operations Learning & Development, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory standards. The position fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning to enhance performance across the value stream.

  • Lead and develop the Operations Support organization, including Deviation Management, Batch Record Review, Process Improvement, and Learning & Development teams.
  • Ensure all operational support activities meet cGMP, GDP, and internal quality and safety requirements.
  • Oversee the deviation management process, ensuring timely investigations, robust root cause analysis, and effective CAPA implementation.
  • Direct the batch record review process to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement in documentation practices.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Practical Process Improvement (PPi), Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Analyze process and quality performance metrics to identify trends and drive proactive improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of operations training programs to ensure workforce capability and compliance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and HR to align support activities with site priorities and strategic goals.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to build a high performing, engaged team.
  • Represent Operations Support in site leadership forums and act as a key driver for operational excellence and employee development initiatives.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Operations Management is preferred.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing, including 2+ years in a leadership role. Experience with manufacturing and quality systems preferred. Knowledge of lean or process improvement tools desired

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong understanding of GMP, GDP, and safety standards. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities. Proficient in TrackWise, SAP, and Microsoft Office. Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Proficiency with the English language.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

Work may involve moderate physical exertion, including lifting medium-weight objects and periods of standing, walking, or sitting. Requires dexterity to operate equipment and a computer for extended periods. Regular exposure to manufacturing environments where PPE and safety precautions are required.
